Culprit Junior One kids’ bikes launched

Culprit is a brand new company based in Taiwan. They turned a few heads at the Eurobike cycle show in September with the Croz Blade, a disc-equipped aero road bike. The latest model in their range is aimed at kids, the new Junior One.

The Junior One has a frame made from 7005 triple butted aluminium with a matching fork, with internally routed cabling. Culprit have fitted a Shimano 105 groupset with Microshift levers. A Culprit 40/32 chainset keeps the gear ratios low and has short 140mm crank arms.

There’s a dash of carbon fibre with Culprit’s own seatpost and narrow 36cm handlebars with a short 60mm stem keeps the cockpit short and reachable. The seat post has a dual clamp so the position can be changed as the young cyclist grows. Brakes are TRP 820 and wheels are deep section, 40mm at the back and 30mm at the front.

Weight is important with kids bikes and Junior One weighs 7.9kg (17.4lb).
Culprit sell direct to customers worldwide. The Junior One is one offer for the New Year and costs $1,295 including shipping. Import taxes and duties aren’t though.

3D OLED 2013 TV Models - Best OLED TV Reviews

Samsung 55-Inch LED HDTV 3D OLED 2013 TV Models
Many convenient gadgets have already presented the OLED show so it is no more an absolutely new technological innovation. The OLED TV displays that are being talked about up by the gadgets industry are an amazing new technological innovation with the ability to be used for TV places. While it is simpler to integrate them in convenient gadgets with little displays, as of yet the TVs with OLED displays are rather little in dimension (no 'big screen' designs are available OLED yet), however we have seen a glance of what the technological innovation would be like when it is launched by means of a well-known TV display.

Some of the convenient gadgets that have this technological innovation consist of some more recent designs of Microsoft zune HD. While their mature designs all had LCD display, the HD edition was a motivating style including theinnovative OLED technological innovation. The MP3 gamer from the Innovative Zen product is well-known for the OLED display as well, while the iPod contact and occasion the well-known iPhone does not have this technological innovation but uses the traditional LCD show. So although right now the OLED might seem a bit innovative, industry scientists acknowledge that it won't be lengthy before the LCD is a subject put to rest and the OLED requires over the electric shops.

OLED is actually a phrase that explains a natural mild giving off diode. It is a significant progression on the formerly used LED technological innovation which was a mild giving off diode. The LED is a partial conductor that discharges mild when a present is approved through the content. This is the same for an OLED as well but the distinction is in the content used. While LED used crystalline components like cup to perform as the partial conductor, OLED uses natural components for example plastic material. There are a variety of factors why the OLED technological innovation is said to top the LCD show technological innovation.

New 3D OLED technology OLED display One of the first advantages of using an OLED display is that there is no backlighting program like there is in the complete HD LCD TV. Backlighting actually reduces LCD show abilities and so they are not clearly noticeable. In contrast to that, an OLED is not only obviously better since it does not use the backlighting strategy, it also uses less energy and hence is more cost effective than the LCD. When used in convenient gadgets this technological innovation gives fantastic battery energy pack outcomes because battery energy can go more time when used with an OLED display. The shades produced by the OLED show are also much brighter and clearer than the ones that come from the use of LCDs. Actually the LCD show cannot show deeply stages of blackness which creates the images look less distinct consequently. The OLED technological innovation reveals shades as they are and really carry out the vivid shades on show. The image deterioration issue in the LCD TVs is another factor that can be removed by the use of the OLED TV.

One cannot perspective the LCD TV from very large perspectives, but only in a restricted go on place is the only way images can be considered effectively. With an OLED TV the display can be considered at any place at all without distressing the image. The use of plastic material in the OLED display is another advantage because as compared to the cup in the LED show, it is much brighter, slimmer and definitely gives the individual more versatility.

While OLED TV technological innovation is definitely ensuring, there are some eccentricities that need to be resolved such as the great cost of the technological innovation. While small gadgets that are convenient are not restricted by this, when the same technological innovation is produced to a larger display it becomes more costly. This is why the significant organizations are still operating on it to offer a better remedy for the end individual.

upcoming BMW new 7-Series

Trust us, this is indeed a face-lift. While it does similar to the current 7-series, trust BMW to make significant upgrades to its limo. Its needs to as the new Merc S-Class is closer to launch and the Audi A8 has teared open the luxury segment. From the front, the upright new BMW kidney grille is bigger and more pronounced as ever. The grille's chrome surround is now larger, a change which - together with a new slat arrangement (nine slats instead of 12) - gives it greater presence on the road. Plus you get optional new full-LED headlights. The large, full-width air intake dominating the lower section of the modified front apron is now split into three sections, a pair of chrome bars marking its outer sections. Two narrow vertical air intakes sit beyond even the LED foglamps to the left and right of the wide intake. These are included as part of the "air curtain" technology, which lowers fuel consumption at higher speeds by forcing the air to flow more aerodynamically around the front wheels. A new design feature that stands out from the side is the indicator integrated into the lower section of each exterior mirror, which makes the car easier to see.

The interior of the concept shows typical Audi design- minimalistic and elegant. The horizontal lines emphasize its design. The instrument panel draws the driver in - typical of Audi. Defined in three dimensions, the large trim strip is made of solid aluminum and includes control functions. Located behind the compact, flat-bottomed, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel are two analog dial instruments with black dials and red needles, complemented by additional kidney-shaped displays. In between the two large round dials is the large, eight-inch display for the driver information system. The display is user-programmable - the driver can select the content to be displayed from an extensive menu. The control panel for the MMI multimedia system is located on the center tunnel console. The surface of its large rotary pushbutton includes the touch pad, MMI touch. This new solution, which makes the already exemplary operation even more intuitive, will soon be introduced in series production at Audi. The ultra-thin MMI monitor power-extends out of the instrument panel, another feature taken from the full-size car class.

Upcoming camera trends for 2013

THE world's biggest camera show took over the German city of Cologne last week, attracting more than 180,000 visitors from around the world and more than 1000 companies keen to show off new and upcoming creations.

Despite Photokina's global attendance, camera makers are facing a tough road.
Consumers increasingly turning to smartphones are buying fewer digital cameras, printing fewer photographs.
In Australia, camera sales fell 5 per cent last year. Compact camera purchases fell 8 per cent in the last six months of 2011, according to the Canon Digital Lifestyle Index, while digital SLR sales jumped 26 per cent.
The industry is hardly selling a doom-and-gloom story, however, with manufacturers keen to find new ways to encourage photographers to upgrade and stick with dedicated cameras.

Below are some of the top trends from Photokina 2012.

FULL-FRAME CAMERAS

Full-frame digital cameras are so named because their image sensors are almost as big as a 35mm frame of film. They can capture more detail as a result, and lenses added to these cameras offer the same focal length as their name suggests (a 50mm lens offers a 50mm field of view).
Canon and Nikon both revealed new full-frame DSLR cameras aimed at enthusiast and beginner photographers.

Canon's new EOS 6D, for example, is a 20.2-megapixel full-frame camera that can shoot full high-definition video, 4.5 photos a second, and arrives in the lightest body for a camera of its kind at 770g. It's expected to sell in the range of $2400 in December.
Rival Nikon has beaten Canon to the punch, releasing its full-frame camera for enthusiasts almost immediately. The D600 comes with a 24.3-megapixel resolution, 5.5 frames-a-second shooting speed and a $2599 price.

Nikon product marketing manager John Young says the D600 is an important addition to the line-up.
"In a market that's declining, it's important to get our customers interested in upgrading."
Sony also joined the trend, launching an unorthodox full-frame camera, the RX1, that features a large sensor in a compact body, and a full-frame SLT camera in the Alpha 99, while Leica showed off two new full-frame compact cameras in the Leica M and M-E.

SMART BUT COMPACT

While compact digital camera sales are faltering, sales of compact system cameras are rising.
Sales of these cameras - which offer changeable lenses and small bodies - grew 156 per cent in the past year and now represent 18 per cent of all interchangeable lens cameras.
Olympus professional photography manager Lucas Tan says the company expects these cameras to represent 25 per cent of this market by Christmas.

As such, Olympus launched two new Pen cameras at Photokina this year, including the Pen Lite E-PL5 and the Pen Mini E-PM2. Both feature the same 16-megapixel sensor, image sensor and fast autofocus as the company's OM-D camera, and both offer touchscreens that can be used as shutter buttons.
Sony also released a new compact system camera in the NEX-6, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor and full HD video capture.

WIRELESS FOR SHARING

Photographers are sharing more photographs digitally than in print and camera makers are catching the trend.
Both Samsung and Nikon have launched phones that use Google Android software, with the 4G-ready Galaxy Camera and Coolpix S800c both able to share photos immediately and use apps such as Instagram.
Yet more cameras will feature built-in wi-fi without making a big deal of the inclusion. New internet-ready models include the Panasonic Lumix GH3 and Canon 6D, while Toshiba plans to launch a range of FlashAir Wi-Fi SDHC memory cards that will connect cameras to computers and smartphones.

The ARM processor-based XPS 10 is designed to run Microsoft’s upcoming Windows RT operating system. 3. XPS One 27 All-in-One (AIO) PC:

Regular readers of Direct2Dell may remember my post about Dell’s award-winning XPS One 27 All-in-One desktop. The same brilliant Wide Quad HD (2560x1440) display that helped make the XPS One 27 such a success will also come with a touch-enabled option ready for Windows 8 in the future.
We offered the XPS 13 Ultrabook with business-class features when we launched it back in early March this year. Business adoption of the XPS 13 is a key reason for its success. We’ve added the XPS 14 and 15 laptops to the mix and not too long ago we introduced CAB files for all three products to assist large enterprise customers who want to deploy XPS machines on a wider scale. The XPS 10 Windows RT tablet, the XPS Duo 12 convertible Ultrabook and the updated XPS One 27 AIO computer are also designed with business users’ needs as well. End result, with these new products our XPS line will bridge the gap between home and business use to accommodate the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend that many of you have been reading about. See today’s press release for more insight on the BYOD topic.

The XPS 10, the XPS Duo 12 convertible Ultrabook and the updated XPS One 27 AIO will be available for sale when Windows 8 is available at the end of October. You can expect to see more details for all three products here on Direct2Dell between now and then.

Nikon Coolpix P7700 And S01 Come Out For Autumn Pocket Shooters

Nikon Coolpix P7700

This week the folks at Nikon are bringing on the heat with not just an Android-powered smart camera, but two additional pocket cameras as well. With the Coolpix P7700 you’ll find that a $499 camera can bring on a revolting set of specifications starting with a massive 1/1.7-inch 12.2 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor. The Coolpix S01, on the other hand, will run presently $179 for a 10 megapixel CCD sensor-toting camera with a 2.5-inch touch screen interface.

The Coolpix P7700 is what Nikon is bringing on to fight with the Canon PowerShot G1 X for certain, complete with an adjustable display that flips wherever you want it to, a 7.1x zoom lens, and their own Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction. This unit also has manual controls in great quantities, of course, and the unit is made to be a perfect blend of high-end specifications matched with a simple to use interface.

Nikon Coolpix P7700

The Nikon Coolpix S01 brings on an even simpler interface to match its a little lower-end specifications. It’s certainly not the least powerful camera on the planet with its 10 megapixel CCD sensor and built-in flash, but at just $179 you’ll find yourself unable to defend against when you’ve got a couple of bills in your pocket this winter season. You’ve got electronic VR, a 3.1 x 2.1 x 0.7-inch body, and a gathering of color choices. You can pick up red, silver, white and pink in a while this year.

Nikon Coolpix P7700

Have a glance at our Nikon tag to see the other devices they’ve brought to the market this season and check the timeline we’ve set up below to see how fabulous their most noteworthy offerings have been. And be sure to check out the Android-powered Nikon Coolpix S800c without a doubt – it’s eccentric and fabulous!

Latest Technology To Detect Resistant Tb Bacteria Developed

new technique to detect tuberculosis bacteria

London: Scientists have developed a new technique to detect tuberculosis bacteria which endure the treatment, paving the way for effectively treating TB bacilli resistant to antibodies.

Researchers from the Antwerp Institute of Tropical Medicine have created a easy technique of Fluorescein diacetate staining, which only stains living tuberculosis bacilli (and not dead ones) which can immediately tell if resistant bacilli survived after treatment.

Tuberculosis bacilli have turn out to be resistant against major antibiotics. According to World Health Organization (WHO) survey, only 11 per cent of multiresistant cases were discovered in 2009.

Checking quick under the microscope still is the recommended technique for TB screening, but it cannot differentiate between living and dead bacilli.

It is therefore not clear whether you are looking at the cadavers of a successful treatment, or at anti survivors. Only if the numbers after a long wait still don't fall, you know you are dealing with a anti strain. But all that time.

Mountain Lion Is Apple's Best-Ever OS Launch

OS X Mountain Lion features include an all new Messages app, Notification Center, systemwide Sharing, Facebook integration, Dictation, AirPlay Mirroring and Game Center. Apple said iCloud integration in OS X Mountain Lion makes it easy for consumers to set up features like Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Reminders and Notes in the cloud.

Apple on Monday announced that the latest iteration of its Mac operating system, OS X Mountain Lion, is the company's most successful ever. Apple is reporting more than 3 million downloads from its Mac App Store in the first four days.

News reports are now pegging that total at 4 million as of Monday, though Apple has not released official stats.

The ninth major release of the Mac desktop OS, Mountain Lion offers more than 200 new features. Consumers are downloading it by the millions from the Mac App Store as an upgrade to Lion or Snow Leopard for $19.99.

$38 Million in Three Days

Mountain Lion features include an all new Messages app, Notification Center, system-wide Sharing, Facebook integration Relevant Products/Services, Dictation, AirPlay Mirroring and Game Center.

Meanwhile, Apple said iCloud integration makes it easy for consumers to set up features like Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Reminders and Notes, and keep everything, including iWork documents, up to date across the desktop, laptop Relevant Products/Services, iPhone and iPad Relevant Products/Services.

Chitika is reporting that new software Relevant Products/Services accounted for 2 percent of Mac traffic globally in the first two days after Mountain Lion hit the market. The firm said consumers who skipped the upgrade to Lion, which had mixed reviews, may be more inclined to make the jump to Mountain Lion.

Chitika is estimating 2.1 million Mac owners have upgraded to the new operating system. That equals about $38 million in revenue if just 90 percent of those users paid for the operating system.

"It is rather impressive for an operating system to capture 3.2% of market Web usage after just 48 hours on the market," Chitika said. "Such figures are likely supported by a relatively low price point for the operating system as well as an expansive list of desired feature improvements."

The Tim Cook Effect

We caught up with Rob Enderle, principal analyst at the Enderle Group, to get his take on Apple's market stance. Apple missed its earnings last week and posted a success right after. But Enderle told us things might have been different if the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs were still at the helm.

"The last earnings report showcased the difference between the two executives," Enderle said. "Tim Cook was not hired to be a Steve Jobs. He was hired to do all the jobs that Steve didn't want to do. So he's almost the polar opposite. Assuming that Apple is going to continue on an even keel, appointing Cook was kind of silly.

"In every major area Cook is very different. He delegates. He's not a micromanager. He's process-oriented. He's not project-oriented. He probably couldn't spell marketing on a good day. Jobs was all about marketing. Cook is a much stronger engineer and Jobs played one on TV. There are huge differences between the two guys."

Samsung starts 64GB NAND memory mass production for mobiles

The more internal memory mobile devices have, the better. But speed is just as important as capacity and Samsung are betting on both with its latest NAND memory chips.

Currently entering in mass production, the new high-speed embedded memory (eMMC) flash chips will be offered in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB varieties. They'll be manufactured under the eMMC Pro Class 1500 specification, which boasts some... well, ballistic speeds.

Those flash chips are rated for speeds of 140MB/s read transfer and 50MB/s write transfer, which has never been achieved before. They are result of an engineering mix of a 64-gigabit NAND with a toggle DDR2.0 interface, all built using the 20nm manufacturing process. These chips are also the first of their kind to support the JEDEC e-MMC v4.5 specification.

Naturally, it'll be put into future premium smartphones and tablets. If we had to guess, we'd say the company's Galaxy Note 2 may be the first device to rock the new storage chip, but only time will tell.

FIRST LOOK: MICROSOFT OFFICE 2013

The next revision of Office adds touches of Metro without itself being a Metro app

MICROSOFT OFFICE 2013Ever since the first beta editions of Windows 8 appeared, rumors have circulated over how Microsoft would revamp its other flagship consumer product, Office, to be all the more useful in the new OS. Would Office become touch-oriented and Metro-centric, to the exclusion of plain old Windows users?

Now Microsoft has whipped the drapes off the preview edition of Office 2013, providing the short answer to the above question: no. Office 2013 has clearly been revised to work that much better in Windows 8 and on touch-centric devices, but the vast majority of its functionality remains in place. The changes made are mostly cosmetic -- a way to bring the Metro look to Office for users of versions of Windows other than 8. Further, Office 2013 has been designed to integrate more closely with online storage and services (mainly Microsoft's), although those are thankfully optional and not mandatory.

The new look and feel
Microsoft has demonstrated before how the Metro look can be ported to apps that don't run on the Metro desktop -- such as the ill-fated Zune client. Office 2013 is the latest test case, but for the most part, the Metro look is confined to places where it makes sense: the File tab, for instance, or what Microsoft has called the "backstage areas" of Office. Even when Office 2013 is installed on Windows 8, it runs on the conventional Windows desktop -- yes, even when Windows 8 is itself installed on a slate PC.

Aside from the Metro makeover, you're likely to notice a certain detail about Office 2013, one that many people also noticed with Windows 8 itself: an expanded degree of integration with Microsoft's Windows Live. Office can be used in a local mode, without being attached to any online service. Sign into Windows Live via Office, however, and the "open or create documents" pane that appears upon opening an Office app will contain a link to your SkyDrive account, where users get a handy 25GB of storage for starters. The hard part, at least in the preview beta, is signing back out; the Office preview only lets you switch Live IDs, not sign out completely and use Office only in local mode again.
