The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will be one of the first smart phones to use the faster HSPA+ network with speeds upt to 42mbps.

It the SGH-T999 is not the Samsung Galaxy Blaze S 4G then it reportedly could be a T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.  Sprint recently announced that it will sell the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which was well-reviewed named one of the top Verizon networks smart phones of 2011.

iPhone 4S brings Apple's user share closer to Android

When the iPhone 4S was reveal, it received a stream of depressing comments and poor sales predictions from bloggers, analysts and fans alike. However, it has proven everybody wrong with sales figures in their millions and China rioting to receive a device.

Research firm Nielsen says the 4S has helped Apple close the gap on Android in the US since its October 14th release. New iOS smartphone users for October were at 25.1 per cent, November grew to 38.8 per cent and December grew further still to 44.5 per cent, according to the report.

However, this meant Android faced a decline each month with 61.6 per cent in October, which fell to 46.9 per cent in December.

Results show that 57 per cent of those that chose an iPhone in December selected the 4S. Android is still the dominant force overall though, with 46.3 per cent of all smartphone users in Q4, while iOS holds 30 per cent and RIM holds 14.9 per cent.

The report says 46 per cent of mobile owners had smartphones in Q4 and 60 per cent chose a smartphone instead of a feature phone during the same period.

Silver gloves said to ease cold-weather touchscreen use

Touchscreen smartphone and tablet users know their devices are tough to use while wearing gloves in in cold weather.

The problem is more widespread than one might think, and has spawned a market for specialized gloves that can ease the task and conduct a person's bioelectricity.

One vendor, Agloves, showed off its knit gloves this week at the Consumer Electronics show here.

The gloves, priced at $23.99 a pair, come in black with actual threads of silver woven in, said Jean Spencer, who founded the Boulder, Colo. start-up with her mother.

Many smartphones and tablets, including the iPhone and iPad, rely upon capacitative touchscreens, which means a person's fingertip bioelectricity is needed to activate a swipe or touch action on a screen.

Agloves claims that the silver fibers running throughout its glove can bring the electricity from other parts of the hand to the fingertip. Officials said some gloves from competitors put conductive material in just a couple of fingertips, and thus don't work as well as the Agloves design.

The company uses the Periodic Table symbol for silver, Ag, in its name.
