Nikon Coolpix P7700 And S01 Come Out For Autumn Pocket Shooters

Nikon Coolpix P7700

This week the folks at Nikon are bringing on the heat with not just an Android-powered smart camera, but two additional pocket cameras as well. With the Coolpix P7700 you’ll find that a $499 camera can bring on a revolting set of specifications starting with a massive 1/1.7-inch 12.2 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor. The Coolpix S01, on the other hand, will run presently $179 for a 10 megapixel CCD sensor-toting camera with a 2.5-inch touch screen interface.

The Coolpix P7700 is what Nikon is bringing on to fight with the Canon PowerShot G1 X for certain, complete with an adjustable display that flips wherever you want it to, a 7.1x zoom lens, and their own Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction. This unit also has manual controls in great quantities, of course, and the unit is made to be a perfect blend of high-end specifications matched with a simple to use interface.

Nikon Coolpix P7700

The Nikon Coolpix S01 brings on an even simpler interface to match its a little lower-end specifications. It’s certainly not the least powerful camera on the planet with its 10 megapixel CCD sensor and built-in flash, but at just $179 you’ll find yourself unable to defend against when you’ve got a couple of bills in your pocket this winter season. You’ve got electronic VR, a 3.1 x 2.1 x 0.7-inch body, and a gathering of color choices. You can pick up red, silver, white and pink in a while this year.

Have a glance at our Nikon tag to see the other devices they’ve brought to the market this season and check the timeline we’ve set up below to see how fabulous their most noteworthy offerings have been. And be sure to check out the Android-powered Nikon Coolpix S800c without a doubt – it’s eccentric and fabulous!

Latest Technology To Detect Resistant Tb Bacteria Developed

new technique to detect tuberculosis bacteria

London: Scientists have developed a new technique to detect tuberculosis bacteria which endure the treatment, paving the way for effectively treating TB bacilli resistant to antibodies.

Researchers from the Antwerp Institute of Tropical Medicine have created a easy technique of Fluorescein diacetate staining, which only stains living tuberculosis bacilli (and not dead ones) which can immediately tell if resistant bacilli survived after treatment.

Tuberculosis bacilli have turn out to be resistant against major antibiotics. According to World Health Organization (WHO) survey, only 11 per cent of multiresistant cases were discovered in 2009.

Checking quick under the microscope still is the recommended technique for TB screening, but it cannot differentiate between living and dead bacilli.

It is therefore not clear whether you are looking at the cadavers of a successful treatment, or at anti survivors. Only if the numbers after a long wait still don't fall, you know you are dealing with a anti strain. But all that time.

Mountain Lion Is Apple's Best-Ever OS Launch

OS X Mountain Lion features include an all new Messages app, Notification Center, systemwide Sharing, Facebook integration, Dictation, AirPlay Mirroring and Game Center. Apple said iCloud integration in OS X Mountain Lion makes it easy for consumers to set up features like Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Reminders and Notes in the cloud.

Apple on Monday announced that the latest iteration of its Mac operating system, OS X Mountain Lion, is the company's most successful ever. Apple is reporting more than 3 million downloads from its Mac App Store in the first four days.

News reports are now pegging that total at 4 million as of Monday, though Apple has not released official stats.

The ninth major release of the Mac desktop OS, Mountain Lion offers more than 200 new features. Consumers are downloading it by the millions from the Mac App Store as an upgrade to Lion or Snow Leopard for $19.99.

$38 Million in Three Days

Mountain Lion features include an all new Messages app, Notification Center, system-wide Sharing, Facebook integration Relevant Products/Services, Dictation, AirPlay Mirroring and Game Center.

Meanwhile, Apple said iCloud integration makes it easy for consumers to set up features like Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Reminders and Notes, and keep everything, including iWork documents, up to date across the desktop, laptop Relevant Products/Services, iPhone and iPad Relevant Products/Services.

Chitika is reporting that new software Relevant Products/Services accounted for 2 percent of Mac traffic globally in the first two days after Mountain Lion hit the market. The firm said consumers who skipped the upgrade to Lion, which had mixed reviews, may be more inclined to make the jump to Mountain Lion.

Chitika is estimating 2.1 million Mac owners have upgraded to the new operating system. That equals about $38 million in revenue if just 90 percent of those users paid for the operating system.

"It is rather impressive for an operating system to capture 3.2% of market Web usage after just 48 hours on the market," Chitika said. "Such figures are likely supported by a relatively low price point for the operating system as well as an expansive list of desired feature improvements."

The Tim Cook Effect

We caught up with Rob Enderle, principal analyst at the Enderle Group, to get his take on Apple's market stance. Apple missed its earnings last week and posted a success right after. But Enderle told us things might have been different if the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs were still at the helm.

"The last earnings report showcased the difference between the two executives," Enderle said. "Tim Cook was not hired to be a Steve Jobs. He was hired to do all the jobs that Steve didn't want to do. So he's almost the polar opposite. Assuming that Apple is going to continue on an even keel, appointing Cook was kind of silly.

"In every major area Cook is very different. He delegates. He's not a micromanager. He's process-oriented. He's not project-oriented. He probably couldn't spell marketing on a good day. Jobs was all about marketing. Cook is a much stronger engineer and Jobs played one on TV. There are huge differences between the two guys."

Samsung starts 64GB NAND memory mass production for mobiles

The more internal memory mobile devices have, the better. But speed is just as important as capacity and Samsung are betting on both with its latest NAND memory chips.

Currently entering in mass production, the new high-speed embedded memory (eMMC) flash chips will be offered in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB varieties. They'll be manufactured under the eMMC Pro Class 1500 specification, which boasts some... well, ballistic speeds.

Those flash chips are rated for speeds of 140MB/s read transfer and 50MB/s write transfer, which has never been achieved before. They are result of an engineering mix of a 64-gigabit NAND with a toggle DDR2.0 interface, all built using the 20nm manufacturing process. These chips are also the first of their kind to support the JEDEC e-MMC v4.5 specification.

Naturally, it'll be put into future premium smartphones and tablets. If we had to guess, we'd say the company's Galaxy Note 2 may be the first device to rock the new storage chip, but only time will tell.
